All words I love to hear when I am purchasing anything from food to cosmetics to clothing to yes, even sheets.

Most people know that eating organic foods are better for your health and the environment. Nobody ever really thinks past that. If you don't eat it, it does’t matter, right? Not quite.

A large number of products we use daily are drenched in chemicals and this can have an adverse affect on our health. We blindly buy these products because the companies deem them safe, and there are really no laws to prevent them from doing this. That is, unless you are purchasing organic products, of course.

However, even at that you must take a close look at what you purchasing to make sure the product is in fact organic. A product can be labeled organic and only contain one organic ingredient. I know, weird!

How many hours do you sleep a night? Probably somewhere between eight and nine hours. That means you spend 1/3 of each day lying in bed on your sheets. Have you ever just stopped and thought about what is in your sheets? Most probably not.

Think about it: you sleep with your face pressed up against the sheets all night long, and inhale whatever is coming off of them within extremely close proximity. This is something that has concerned me. I thought, there just has to be an alternative.

And of course there is: organic bedding. I have been looking into purchasing organic sheets for quite some time now, but always turned away because of the high prices and  the manufacturers’ unsustainable practices. I am all for being green, but I dislike companies that take advantage of my “greenness” and charge above and beyond what their products are actually worth.

However, I recently discovered Magnolia Organics sheets and the great thing is they are affordable and meet and exceed all my green values.

They come in beautiful bright colors that do not have the environment paying the price-no harsh chemical are used in the manufacturing process. If hot pink is not your thing, then you can try out their more earthy colors!

Did I mention how soft and comfortable they are? And the prices vary from 34.99$ (twin) to 39.99 (full) to 44.99 (queen) USD. I don’t think you will find a better deal and a more sustainable company at that price!

They claim to abide by fair labour practices, which means only sound working conditions and fair wages for this company. They use minimal packaging, therefore their sheets come in a reusable organic messenger bag. How amazing is that? Pretty amazing! They state they are GOTS certified and that their products are made from organic cotton and no chemicals are used from when the seed is first planted until it makes it to your bed-no chemicals touching this face.

This company appears to keep our planet in mind, which puts a big smile on my face! These are the types of companies that I want to invest my money into. Companies that share the same passion for the environment and trying to lessen their carbon footprint.

I for one will no long be sleeping on all those nasty chemicals. I have made the switch. Will you?
