The one thing I was hoping to never purchase was disposable diapers. This past week, little E had a rash that was out of control, so we had to take her to see our naturopath. It was recommended that she wear a disposable diaper at night, so that we could slather Calendula diaper cream (contains zinc oxide) all over her bottom. Zinc oxide is not very good for cloth diapers. We had a long list of things to do to get rid of her rash from stripping the diapers to using disposables. Oh well, I am just happy her bum is all cleared and there isn't an infection. I guess, sometimes, the environment comes second.
Friday was our last day at the farmers market, which made me sad. Farmer John is such a nice man, and you can tell he really cares and appreciates his customers. We hugged and said our good-byes. Who thought saying bye to your local farmer could be so hard? If you live in and around Arlington, Texas you need to go see John!
This week, there will be lots of good-byes, and hugs! It has been a great run here in the U.S, but all things, I guess, must come to an end.

2-COMPOSTING
I surprisingly did not juice very much this week. I was too busy playing with my new toy, the Blendtec, and boy did we ever have fun! That blender sure can blend pretty much anything. So far my favorite concoction is cucumbers and frozen watermelon and strawberries. Sounds weird, but it is so refreshing!
With less juicing- this meant less compost I had to drag to Whole Foods with me.
The total weight of our compost was 17 lbs.
3-RECYCLING
I am proud to say that we have reduced our recycling by a significant amount. We are almost finished packing for our move on Saturday, and have found some odds and ends that need to be recycled.
On the week-end, J.P took all our glass to the local recycling facility and all our old CD’s, CD cases, and gift card to Best Buy to be recycled. I still have not asked how they recycle all these materials, but it is on my to-do list!
4-TRASH
We had some trash this past week. Just the usual suspects- receipts, pieces of plastic from my Kombucha bottles, and a few random pieces of plastic. This week I will be taking a picture of our trash, because I am pretty sure J.P doesn't want to drive from Fort Worth to Montreal with a bag of trash!
5-TRAVEL
This week, we drove to the little gym, the farmers market, Whole Foods, Arlington two times for little E’s daycare, Dallas and we did some local driving to Chipotle! I am exhausted thinking about all that driving.
The total distance traveled on the TDI was 429.2 km (266 mi) and we filled up about 51 L (13.5 gals) for 53.50, and we still have fuel in the car right now!
