Grapefruit Ginger Juice

Recipes

9 Feb

grapefruit ginger juice

I am not a grapefruit kinda gal, never have been. Seeing as I’ve been finding them at the bottom of my CSA basket, I had to come up with a recipe to use them. Usually, when I receive a fruit or veggie I do not like, it goes right to the juicer. The grapefruit was no different, except I had to mask the strong grapefruit taste with something. I decided to choose ginger. That stuff can mask any taste!

I am pleasantly surprised and happy to announce that, on the first try, I made a yummy juice. I know, hard to believe, eh? I don’t know how I did it, but it worked.

Now, I know you are dying to know how I pulled it off. Because I am a such a nice person and want to pass on “how to mask grapefruit in a juice the right way” or at least my way, I guess I will let you in on it.

Grapefruit Ginger Juice

Yields: 1 pint

Ingredients

  • 1 grapefruit
  • 1 orange
  • 1 apple
  • 2 celery stalks
  • 1 ginger nob or as much as you can handle

Method

  • Place all the ingredients in a juicer.

Tips and notes

  • If you do not have a juicer and want to try it anyways-no guarantees this will work though. Place the apple, celery, ginger and peeled orange and grapefruit in a blender or food processor. I would recommended dicing the fruits and veggies before putting them in. Blend it all. [/print_this]

However, my juicer isn't the top of the line, sIf anyone attempts option 2- please let me know if  A- it worked and  if B- it tasted good.

I think I am going to go and sip my refreshing juice with my new bendy Glass Dharma straw.  Nothing else quite says the perfect juice than a reusable glass straw!

Sounds great! I love ginger, but like you, am not the biggest fan of grapefruit. I do like grapefruit juice though. Thanks for sharing.

    Peace. 😉

I’m not a grapefruit fan either. Whenever they come in our CSA box I usually end up leaving them in the donate box. Maybe I’ll give your recipe a try the next time one appears!

You could always just leave the grapefruit out! I am sure it will still be tasty!
