Since we are moving tomorrow, I have turned into a smoothie queen over the past week. Throwing pretty much everything I could get my hands on into my Blendtec to make sure I do not waste any food before we leave. Some concoctions were very tasty, and others were pretty nasty. I thought I would share one of my successful smoothies from the week.
Girl on Raw shared on facebook this smoothie recipe with watermelon, and seeing as I had a large stash in my freezer, I just knew what I was going to do! Thanks, Robyn! And, you should totally try her recipe as well.
I made the watermelon orange smoothie several times this week, and used mint on one occasion, and, let me tell you, it definitely adds a kick to your smoothie, in a good way.
Watermelon Orange Smoothie
Ingredients
- 2 cups frozen watermelon
- 1 large cucumber chopped
- 1 orange peeled
- 1/2 cup of water
- Optional: fresh mint or mint extract
Instructions
- Throw everything in your blender (I used my Blendtec) and blend until smooth.
- Pour into your favorite glass!
I use an old coconut butter jar as my glass. Doesn't it look pretty?
It is such a refreshing smoothie. Great for those hot summer days or nights. I am sure a shot of vodka would make this a mean mommy or daddy drink! or perhaps pour into some popsicle molds for a nice treat. Minus the alcohol if for the kids of course!
