Saturday was a girl day out for this mom, and some much needed time alone. I went to Iona Hair Salon for the second time in Fort Worth to get my hair colored and cut. I love this salon to pieces as they use organic color systems hair color which is vegan and organic; the people are great; they let me bring the foils home to recycle. My hair looks great and no harmful chemicals were used to make them pretty.
Saturday night we went to see the Grand Prairie lights. It was so cute to see how little E reacted to all the lights. As we drove through the road of lights, her face was lit up with awe.

2-COMPOSTING
This week’s weigh in for composting was 11.4 lbs. I juiced everyday to get rid of whatever head cold bug I had.
3-RECYCLING
Same old same old: junk mail. If anyone knows how to cancel junk mail please let me know.
A friend of ours brought over some glass that needs to be recycled. The recycling company doesn't pick up glass. Therefore I have to drive it over. We told a few friends that I will collect theirs, and bring it all together!
4-TRASH
The trash this week comprised of: veggie/fruit stickers, plastic banana wrap, receipts, plastic from Kombucha bottles, and tie wrap from the lettuce. Also, some of the veggies were wrapped with plastic elastics, but I will keep them incase I ever need them again.
5-TRAVEL
We didn't do much traveling because J.P takes the train to work. The extra miles were because we went to see the Grand Prairie lights on Saturday evening. The total distance traveled was 321.87 km (180 mi). We filled the gas tank with 13.01 gallons this week for 51.00.
I think we had a pretty good week over all. It seems to come as second nature to avoid buying products that come in excess packaging and want to buy items in bulk and glass opposed to plastic. I feel as though the changes we are making will go beyond the duration of the project.
We are leaving for Montreal for 2 weeks. It will be a challenging few weeks for the project since there is not much local produce available, and we are still finalizing how we will compost. We will most probably be guerrilla composting.
But, we are always up for a challenge!
