Wordless Wednesday, a simple post which features a photo to convey a message that speaks for itself without using words; well not a lot of words!
I read an article recently about my favorite restaurant- Chipotle. Of course, I don’t believe everything I read on the internet, but this got me thinking. What kind of oil do they use? Is there really GMO’s in most of their foods? I will look into this myself because that is just how I am. However, yesterday was a sad day on the Chipotle front. Will I eat there again and enjoy it like my little E does? I hope so.
Will this article change your view of Chipotle?
chipotle, GMO''s, organic, restaurant, vegan

I am the Good Girl Gone Green. Seeing garbage cans overflowing with recyclables breaks my heart.

No, doesn’t change my mind. They are still one of the better places to eat. I already avoid too many places to eat because they offer crap. I feel like I need to support the few places that are at least taking steps and Chipotle has taken some big steps in the right direction IMO.
Good point. Much better than Subway. I am still going to ask them some questions. I will probably eat there again, but still makes me sad to think they are not who I thought they were.
I don’t eat there just because I can make the same food at home only healthier. I know what is going into my food and it’s less expensive. Not to mention I know WHO was handling my food, Me!
I agree! I always end up with leftover food at Chipotle anyway. If I cook at home, it’s easier to save the leftovers and only serve myself what I’ll actually eat. Plus, no waste from food containers or disposable utensils when you’re cooking at home!
i love Chipotle and they are still the lesser of the other evils.
For sure!
I definitely have put them in the lesser of evils camp, but I’ll read the article and see if it changes my mind — thanks!
Me too. Not as bad as lets say McDonalds for sure!
I love chipotle! I just started eating it. I am not sure if I want to read that article. Ha ha.
Me too. Just a little sad right now. I feel slightly deceived. Food with integrity shouldn’t have GMO’s in it, IMO!
I’ve actually never eaten at a Chipotle but would definitely try it even after reading the article.
I mean it is better than going to some fast food restaurant. I think cooking at home is better for you but when you have to go out and eat Chipotle is definitely a better option.
You know, it causes me to think, but at the same time realize if that’s the only few things Chipotle has going against it – it’s doing pretty good. I feel like when I eat there, it’s supporting their efforts to make a difference in our food.
Always good to think and know about the behind the scenes and where others can make more improvement!!
I am torn, D! I love it so. You are right, it much better than the other options we have to eat out for sure. I will probably go again. I mean, It’s not like I have one near me so if I do go it will be a few times a year at the most!
Oh no-not Chipotle. I think it’s worth asking the questions and trying to get some answers before making any decision. I agree with Tiffany-it’s better than most fast food. I’m still a fan until proven guilty.
Yes, Chipotle! I am going to ask them questions to see if they will actually answer me!
I thought of you when I came across the article yesterday. I’m glad you found it.
Um..I loved Chipotle as well but knowing that they use friggin’ Soybean Oil.. Never . Never will I eat from there again and the GMO corn tortilla’s and I rarely eat out but this is the one place I thought was safe on my endocrine system.
haha, everyone seems to think of me when they see Chipotle. Funny! I am undecided about the whole thing. I think I will ask them some questions myself as well.
I am a big fan of making food at home whenever possible. Restaurant food always makes me nervous, plus it’s so expensive! I’d rather whip up a Mexican feast on my own!
I rarely go out to eat now. There is nothing near me that interests me at all. Back in Texas there were a few organic vegan restaurants that I went to, but nothing near me now. So I cook and uncook at home! Tastes better anyways.
Your pictures is making me hungry
looks so yummy…
haha.
we ate there for a the first time on our trip to PA this summer, we don’t have one anywhere near us
Jenn. The only Chipotle in Canada right now is in Toronto.
I remember a few months ago, I was at a Chipotle and one of the ladies was asking about what they cooked with and she mentioned soybean oil. Ever since then, I have been hesitant about Chipotle. I still eat it, but don’t use it as my default go-to restaurant because I started questioning their practices.
Thank you for sharing the article. Ever since doing the 21 Day Vegas Kickstart and going vegetarian, I get a vegan burrito bowl with rice, black beans, veggies, pico de gallo, salsa, and avocado. Sad to know that the rice and veggies are probably cooked with soybean oil. I will spread the word. I hope Chipotle will listen.
Yum. that is pretty much what I get, too. Yum.
