Stream of Consciousness: To be a kid again

28 Comments Stream of Consciousness Pin It

I now remember why I loved playing and running outside in the fresh air as a kid. It is so much fun! Yesterday we went to the Dallas Arboretum for the afternoon. It was a beautiful day; the sun was shinning and it was about 10 C, or 50 F for all my America friends!

It was the very first time that little E walked outside, and by walk, I mean run and run and run all afternoon. Before yesterday, she was a little too wobbly to be outside for my liking, but, yesterday, she was a walking and running camp.

It was just so cute to see her little tiny legs walk and run through the grass. She even met a little boy and she began to stalk run after him because she was just so excited to have met another kid.

I felt like a kid myself running after her in the grass and around the trees. I loved her facial expressions. She just had the biggest smile on her face, and her laugh – oh her laugh made me smile.

We were both just so carefree. I still wish it was like that. Not a care in the world. It would be nice to be a kid again.

Just for one day. Just one!

That’s why it’s so much fun to live vicariously through our children and watch them run and play. If only we knew when we were kids how truly awesome it was!

We take the moments where we can get them. Since you enjoyed it so much, I’d say that you’re doing it right. :)

Oh, I love to make those memories with my daughter. It is so fun when it’s beautiful out – definitely. Love it! And how cute that your lil one isn’t wobbly anymore!

Maybe one day we will all get to take a break and be just as carefree! ;D

I can’t wait to take Lily and Molly outside and to watch them play. Like you said, they’re still a little wobbly, but they’ll get there! It’s going to be a blast making new memories.

Aw, I can just picture this and it makes ME smile too. We really do get to be children again when we have our own. At least sometimes! We should do it more often. Those times are special indeed!

So fun, isn’t it?! I love to run around with J and just be carefree. J’s particular fave right now is running around in the rain (sprinkling really) and splashing in puddles :) it’s nice to stop and enjoy the little things in life! Hope you’re enjoying DFW.

What a fun idea! I love playing outside with my kids. We camp a lot in the summer and this past year we had a chance to hike around Rocky Mountain National Park. This was a whole new amazing adventure for my kids!
