I am a big smoothie fan especially now that I have a Blendtec, it just makes smoothie making so much easier. I personally love the colour and taste of green smoothies, and there are so many difference combinations out there. They are simple to make and just plain delicious. To keep things fun, rotate your greens and even fruit. Let your creative juices flow and see what kind of green smoothie you will blend.

Basic Green Smoothie
Ingredients
- 1-2 frozen bananas
- Greens (I used 8 rainbow chard leaves, but spinanh, lettuce, or collard greens work just as well)
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 cup of ice
- 1-2 dates, soaked
Method
- Place everything in your high powered blender, and blend until creamy and well combined. I used my Blendtec, but a regular blender or even a food processor would work.
- Pour into a glass and sip with your glass or stainless steel straw.

Thanks! The rainbow chard was so green!
I just started using my Blendtec even though I got it a while ago. I’ve tried a few smoothie recipes and look forward to trying this one too. What does it mean that your site is solar powered?
Holly, the company that host my website on thier server runs on solar power. They use solar panels to generate electricity for the whole company. Therefore, my site runs on solar power! I heart my blendtec and use it at least once a day!
Simple, healthy, gorgeous…love!!
Thank you, Amber!
I have just printed this off so I can have it today! Thanks for sharing!
Great!
Wish I had a blender *sigh* this looks like you’d jump up with energy after drinking it.
Just out of curiosity, why a stainless steel straw?
http://myfroley.blogspot.com
I use stainless or glass straws because plastic straws are disposable. Plastic straws end up in our water ways (ocean, lakes, rivers etc) and many sea creatures mistaken them for food so I avoid plastic. My daughter is 20 months, and the stainless steel are safer for her. She does use glass straws but I feel better when she uses the stainless ones!
What a gorgeous green color!
Thanks so much!

Your smoothies look wonderful and healthy. I would love it if you would feature some on my new “Perpetual Parades” -smoothies linky!
Just found your bog and reading the older entries so this comment might be too late but….I love me a green smoothie. My go-to smoothie. Vanilla almond milk (unsweetened or homemade with vanilla extract added). Baby kale, zucchini, banana, any additional frozen fruit (I change the second fruit around for variety) and either some hemp seeds or chia seeds. If I freeze the kale and use frozen fruit I don’t need to add any ice. Soooo good and good for me.
That sounds very yummy, Andrea! I hope you have enjoyed my blog.
We love green smoothies too! Jealous of your Blendtec!
The best purchase EVER! Seriously. It is worth the money. I also got the twister jar to go with it to make nut butters and my coconut butter! I think you should add it to your holiday wish list!
I mixed it up and added raw chocolate powder, and vanilla protein powder as well this time.
