I will get this out of the way now since I am being honest about our spending. I got a Blendtec. I have been eyeing them for over a year and a half, ever since I began eating raw. At that time, we decided to invest in a juicer and dehydrator because I already had a food processor. I never realized what the big deal of a high powered blender was. Now I do.
The biggest reason for purchasing one now opposed to waiting was the fact that we are leaving the beautiful USA, and things are more expensive back in Canada. Don’t get me started on the taxes and shipping costs. One way or another, I was getting one. So we decided to buy now to save money later! And it was my birthday and Mother’s Day gift! Perfect.
We had a quiet Mother’s Day just the way I wanted it. I slept, received two awesome e-cards, we made fresh organic juices and smoothies in the morning, we took a walk to Spiral Diner for lunch where little E was a doll, and came home to relax and spend time together. And made more smoothies in the Blendtec. Can you tell we are loving this amazing machine?

I was a juice and smoothie monster this past week. However, I was addicted to green juices and smoothies- mainly cucumber, celery, and spinach juice with a splash of ginger and orange, mango, pineapple and spinach smoothies. I found myself making more smoothies than usual, thus creating less compost. This is a good thing.
My compost anxiety is finally gone. I was stressed thinking about where we were going to compost once we got home. I know it may be weird, but I have compost on the mind all the time. Well, my sister and brother in law just set up a nice composting station at their place and we are welcome to us it. Stress is gone!
The total weight of our compost was 18 lbs.
I am proud to say that we have reduced our recycling by a significant amount, but since the Blendtec was welcomed into the family this past week, we had a few extras to recycle. Also, we began packing on Saturday and found paper and random things to recycle.
We had some trash this past week. Just the usual suspects- receipts, pieces of plastic from my Kombucha bottles, and a few random pieces of plastic. Probably next week I will post a picture of our ONE trash can. The last 36 weeks have gone by so fast, and I can’t believe we are going back home already!!
This week, we drove to the little gym, the farmers market, Whole Foods, Arlington two times for little E’s daycare, Dallas and we did some local driving to Chipotle and Spiral Diner! I am exhausted thinking about all that driving
The total distance traveled on the TDI was 432.2 km (268 mi) and we filled up about 37.9 L (10 gals) for 40.00, and we still have fuel in the car right now!
