Sunday morning I will pack up my “reusable travel goodie bag” and give my sweet little E a big kiss good-bye on the cheek. I will be away from her for 2 days for the very first time. It will be a bitter sweet moment- I am going to miss her cute smile dearly while I am gone, but I am so excited that Ford Canada invited me, along with 20 other Canadian bloggers to join them at the North American International Auto-Show in Detroit, Michigan.
One of the biggest challenges, besides being away, will be to maintain Project Green Foot- I don’t think I will be doing much composting. <sigh> I am thinking Mother Nature will give me a break just this one time given my good green record.
I am flattered to have been extended an invitation especially since I am not much of a car gal, but I am interested to hear all about Ford’s green initiatives. We will spend Monday at the Auto-Show at various press conferences and will be there for Ford’s big announcement. A green announcement, perhaps? I’ll keep my fingers crossed!
On Tuesday, we will spend the day at Ford’s headquarters in Dearborn, Michigan where we will meet their top designers and experience and participate in Ford’s entire design process. J.P is slightly jealous of me (cause he told me so), seeing as he is a mechanical engineer. I guess he should start a blog to receive awesome opportunities like me.
I am looking forward to the sustainable material lab exploration part of the day. I have so many questions and am intrigued about what they have and are planning for the future. I will share all of my “green” insights when I am back.
